SEI co-director Iain McCalman will appear at the 2014 Cairns Tropical Writers Festival from 12 – 14 September.

The weekend long event will bring together regional writers from across a broad variety of genres and texts to discuss all things literary. As well as talks from authors, the Festival will include lots of chances for budding writers to pick up some skills, with workshops and seminars.

Professor McCalman will be discussing The Reef: a passionate history at the Festival. He will appear ‘In Conversation’ with ABC journalist Sonja Anderson at 3pm on Saturday 13 September.

Professor McCalman will also be part of a panel discussion with Dr Veny Armanno, Helen Young and Kier Shorey on Sunday 14 September.
